Microsoft’s App in a Day training is a great way to begin your Power Platform journey. If you’ve attended or tried App in a Day (maybe even one run by me!), chances are you are keen to learn more and explore what else you can do with Power Apps and the rest of the platform.

I’ve compiled a list of further resources here that I like to share at the end of the App in a Day sessions I run.

Power Apps Developer Plan

Sign up for a Developer Plan to get free and ongoing access to Power Apps and premium features. You can use this environment to try out features and practice your building.

Saving what you’ve built during App in a Day

Exporting what you have built during App in a Day training – Rishona Elijah
Chances are, you built your Device Ordering app in a trial account / an environment provided by your trainer. Unfortunately this expires, but you don’t need to lose your hard work. I have written instructions on how you can save your work and export it into a new environment (such as the developer plan).

Power Apps Community

Power Apps Community – Power Platform Community (
When you’re off building your own apps and need some help, you can post a question in the Power Apps Community. Experts are on hand there to help you out. There are also tutorials and apps to explore that have been created by the talented community members.

Youtube channels

Lisa Crosbie
Check out Lisa Crosbie’s channel for introductory videos on Power Apps and other parts of the platform such as Dataverse for Teams, Power Virtual Agents and Dynamics 365. It’s a good way to explore a range of topics and discover something new about Power Platform. She also has a video that explains Power Apps Licensing.

Other hands-on activities

Other Power Platform tools are briefly described during App in a Day, and maybe now you’re keen to find out more about them. Check out the Tutorials area of my blog for more training and activities to try.

My favourite is the activity on Power Virtual Agents, where you can create your own space-themed bot.
